Dear Visitor,
Welcome to the Aviators’ Post No.
743 Web site, and thank you for taking the time to log on. I’d
like to explain some things about this Post and what we do.
A quick reading of the Post’s history
will show you that this organization has a distinguished past, and our
membership requirements
ensure that we attract interesting people. We currently enjoy
the company of fighter pilots and bomber air crews from World War
II through the Iraq War, from all branches of service. We are especially
proud of several Tuskegee Airmen who are active members of the Post.
We alternate dinner and lunch meetings
nine times per year. During these meetings we get some Post business
accomplished as well as enjoy the camaraderie of fellow aviators, listen
to interesting speakers, or enjoy aviation orientated IMAX films.
It is not necessary to attend the business
meetings to be supportive of the goals and objectives of this Post.
Our annual Valor Awards
Military Ball is an event at which we honor an outstanding aviator from
each of the three major branches of service. These individuals are chosen
by the Chief of Staff of each branch, making this black-tie event a
truly national happening.
In addition, we recognize the outstanding summer,
fall and spring semester U. S. Air Force Academy cadet wing commanders
by making a personal
presentation of the General of the Air Force Henry H. Arnold Sword
Award, a handsomely-mounted silver saber, to each of these three cadets. We also support
the AFROTC unit in the New York City area by presenting eight medals each year to their most outstanding cadets,
and give financial support to local and overseas aviation museums.
If you are not a current member and would
like to join us to help further our goals, please refer to the membership
qualifications. We would be very pleased to count you as one of
our members.
Sincerely,

Commander
